Vitamins and minerals in diet
Vitamins and minerals in diet are important in that they ensure that your body's metabolism is regulated. In addition, they also help important parts of your body such as your nerves, brain, eyes, skin, muscles and bones to maintain a healthy state.
The 6 major vitamins are a, b, c, e, d and k. Each of these vitamins and groups within them should be part of your daily diet. Minerals too should be part of your daily diet as they work hand in hand with vitamins.
Nearly all natural foods contain vitamins and minerals. An example of some foods would be all types of vegetables and fruits, dairy products, fish, meats and poultry. Cereals are famous for containing performed vitamins and minerals which are supposed to give you that extra boost of these nutrients for the day.
Another way of getting these vitamins is through tablets, powders or liquid forms. These four methods are synthesized methods rather than natural methods, but can be very effective too, if it is supplemented with a healthy diet of natural foods.
In order to ensure that you are getting the right amounts of vitamins and minerals, you must at all times eat a healthy balanced diet. Don't ever think that multivitamin supplements are a replacement to natural foods. Supplements are only there to complement your diet, but never to replace it. Don't ever take excessive amounts of multivitamins or any other supplement as they can lead to high risks of toxicity, which in turn can be very harmful to your body.
